Greetings

Hello, this is my first post - I'm Viking. I like stuff and/or things. These include:

Doctor Who

Fantasy literature (eg: Malazan, Tyrant Philosophers, Green Bone Saga, Wheel of Time, etc)

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (currently reading Part 7 in Japanese)

Music (mainly metal, a bit of jazz, etc) and other manga

RPGs - both the video game and the tabletop kind (I love more narrative focused TTRPGs such as Blades in the Dark, Heart: The City Beneath, and PBTA systems) (I also really enjoy JRPGs - currently playing Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth)

I plan to post updates on this blog sporadically about all of these things and more

Not y'all wanting to know about JoJo!

Jojo is named after Giorno Giovanna from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He's a big ass boy at 13lbs. He's 4 next month. IDC what my partner says, Jojo is a white boy 🤣 But he's one of them Minnesota Viking well built white boys. Too bad he's a coward 🤣

His favorite food is pellets. Jojo literally doesn't eat anything else than cat food. I've never had a cat that doesn't like human food. But he's got a bad stomach and his shit smells something abysmal, so we buy him sensitive food to prevent that. He's incredibly food motivated though....just.... Dry Pellets 🤣

His hobbies include sleeping on all my surfaces (he knows better than to step on the direct blue of my couch, though), yelling at doors to be opened, sprinting, yelling at ghosts, making the world's finest biscuits, playing with trash, and biting a particular texture of box. He really likes rubber bands. We sometimes call him trash boat and trash panda.

His skills include biscuit making, nap having, and face serving. And yelling. He is The Fastest Boy Alive, according to himself. He has clipped me more than once proving this point. His grandparents treat him like he is the Best Boy, so he's spoiled as all hell. He will respond on the phone, if you ask for him. He cannot be assed to respond to other cats.

That's about it, at least that I can think of!

The reason all my vampires have weird professions and themed outfits and whatnot is, of course, thanks to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Every Stand user has a unique (and absolutely ridiculous) style to them that makes them instantly recognizable and memorable, and while my characters don’t dress up like strippers who just dressed themselves in the dark, I tried to give them each a unique identity. I got a cowboy, a Viking, a former mafioso, an astronaut, Jack the Ripper, a puritanical witch hunter, a clown, a Templar knight… All nice bases to build a character off of.

I HAVE to hear your thoughts about Weather Report in your Viking au!!! His ability automatically gives me mental connections to Freyr and Thor.

!!!! Yes great question!

So I’m not sure if I’m gonna bring the gods into my au, per se, I could def make their stands some version of a gods blessing, but right now they’re just (mostly) normal humans :]

But Weather

I picture him as either a human who is like, eerily accurate with knowing the weather way before anything happens, and a borderline obsession with it lmao, OR he could be a Jotunn! Not quite the gods lmao, just a creature, but I thought it would be fun if he got changeling’d (replaced by Pucci) and was given powers by the Jotunn/fae who took him! So he can control the weather and lives in a super cold land.

Pucci finds and captures him (bastard), and tries to use him to control the weather in Pucci’s favor (to help him help Dio take over the world). Weather doesn’t really comply, but he does help Jolyne, FF and Ermes (and Emporio) escape from Pucci and on the way he gets back his memory :) rip to anasui tho, he doesn’t make it 😔
